Exchange Club - Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse
Child abuse know no boundaries. Its effects damage the lives of children and tear families apart. Child abuse is often a reoccurring cycle, passing from generation to generation, resulting in mental and physical injury and even death. The Exchange Club - Carl Perkins Center was established in 1981 to break the cycle of abuse and improve the quality of family life in communities throughout West Tennessee.
In 1981, The Exchange Club opened the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Where the Center Serves n West Tennessee Families
From its earliest beginnings (1981) in Madison County, The Center and its board of directors sought to establish a Center in every West Tennessee county (except Shelby and Lauderdale - where similar centers exist).
By 1994, Centers were established in four additional counties:
October 1989 Gibson County
November 1989 Henderson County
September 1991 Haywood County
February 1994 Tipton County
By 2003, Centers were established in six additional counties:
July 1996 Crockett County
July 1996 Chester County
August 1996 Hardeman County
September 1998 McNairy County
July 2002 Carroll County
July 2003 Weakley County
